Roofing Project Manager

Position Summary:

Skilled and detail-oriented individuals to take on the role of Project Manager. This position involves overseeing project quality control, safety compliance, documentation, change orders, and management of external contractors.

Job Type:

  • Full-Time
  • $55,000 base salary plus performance-based bonus reaching $69,000

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in roofing with a strong understanding of materials, installation processes, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with roofing technologies, materials, and innovations, preferably with a background in construction or a related field.
  • Certification in safety protocols, such as OSHA, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Proven ability to manage positive relationships with suppliers and external contractors within the roofing sector.
  • Knowledge and experience with regulatory requirements specific to the roofing industry, ensuring projects align with legal and safety standards.
    • Proficiency in creating and managing technical documentation for roofing projects, including specifications, plans, and compliance records.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling quick and effective resolution of challenges during roofing projects.
    • Commitment to continuous learning, staying abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in the roofing sector.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Quality Control:

    • Implement and manage quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
    • Conduct regular assessments to maintain high-quality project outcomes.

    Compliance (Safety):

    • Ensure project teams adhere to safety standards and compliance regulations.
    • Implement safety protocols and provide ongoing training.

    Capture, Document & Report:

    • Capture and document project activities, milestones, and issues.
    • Generate regular reports to keep stakeholders informed of project progress.

    Supplementation Change Order:

    • Manage change orders related to project supplementation and adjustments.
    • Ensure transparency and accurate documentation of changes.

    Manage External Contractors:

      • Coordinate and manage external contractors involved in project execution.
      • Foster positive relationships and ensure alignment with project goals.

    Measurements & KPIs:

    Days in Status of Work Orders:

    • Track the number of days work orders spend in different status stages.
    • Implement improvements to reduce time in status and enhance overall efficiency.

    # & Quality of Callbacks:

    • Monitor and assess the number and quality of callbacks related to completed projects.
    • Implement corrective actions to address issues and improve quality.

    # & Quality of Reviews:

    • Track and evaluate customer reviews related to project outcomes.
    • Implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and positive reviews.

    Daily Safety Checks and Compliance:

    • Monitor and report on daily safety checks to ensure compliance.
    • Implement measures to address safety issues promptly.

    Material Returns Ratio (i.e., 100% No Issues):

    • Track the ratio of material returns with no issues.
    • Implement measures to optimize material management and reduce issues.

    OSHA Reporting:

    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to OSHA as required.
    • Implement measures to enhance overall OSHA compliance.

    This role requires a proactive and analytical construction project manager capable of ensuring project quality, safety compliance, and effective management of external contractors.

     

    Experience & Job Requirements:

    • Physical ability to regularly lift, carry, or handle materials up to 50 lbs during site inspections or project oversight.

    • Comfort working at heights, including climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and inspecting roofing systems closely.

    • Ability to comfortably spend extended periods outdoors, potentially exposed to weather conditions common to roofing projects.

    • Willingness and ability to drive frequently between multiple job sites within the local area (valid driver’s license and clean driving record required).

    • Good visual acuity and attention to detail for conducting thorough inspections and identifying issues or hazards on roofing systems.

    • Availability for occasional after-hours or weekend emergency response, especially during peak roofing season or after severe weather events.

    •  High school diploma or GED required

    •  Basic computer skills and experience with customer management software.
