Material Delivery Driver

Position Summary:

The Material Delivery Driver is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of materials and supplies necessary for production and project completion. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely distribution of materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, and material distribution while maintaining workplace safety standards. This role also requires daily travel to either the Waukesha or Madison warehouse, typically visiting only one location per day, to facilitate the movement of materials and supplies. Additionally, this position involves taking photos of deliveries, shipments, and inventory for documentation and quality assurance purposes on a job site.

Job Type:

  • Full-Time
  • $55,000 annually
  • Monday – Friday & Saturdays when needed during peak season
  • Comprehensive benefit package
  • Location: Windsor, WI and surrounding areas

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Daily travel to either the Waukesha or Madison warehouse, typically visiting only one location per day.
  • Daily travel to job sites.
  • Home every night; no overnight travel required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production
    materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished products for final distribution.
  •  Travel daily to either the Waukesha or Madison warehouse, typically visiting only one location per day, to transport
    and manage materials as needed.
  •  Contribute to the efficient operation of the stock and materials storage area by keeping it organized and clean.
  •  Maintain accurate inventory records by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording
    locations, and reporting shortages.
  • Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials listed on production orders.
  •  Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies as needed.
  • Prepare materials for shipping by correctly locating, packing, crating, loading, and securing products for transit.
  • Document product shipments and material handling activities by accurately recording units shipped, received, and stored.
  • Receive, verify, and process returned materials and supplies from production by cross-checking supply codes, lot numbers, and quantities.
  • Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain all material-handling equipment by performing pre-use
    inspections and making minor operator repairs as necessary.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to transport materials safely and efficiently.
  • Keep loading areas and machinery clean and functional to prevent workplace hazards.
  • Open containers, sort, and catalog materials for storage and distribution.
  •  Learn and adhere to workplace safety regulations and procedures, ensuring compliance with company and industrysafety standards.
  • Take photos of deliveries, shipments, and inventory to maintain accurate records and ensure quality control.
  •  Uploading deliveries from suppliers every other week into our warehouse.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work orders and inventory records.
  • Adept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously while maintaining efficiency.
  • Proficiency in prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 75 lbs regularly).
  • Data entry proficiency and familiarity with inventory management software is a plus.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.

 

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required.
  •  High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or inventory management role preferred.
  • Forklift certification or previous forklift operation experience is a plus but not required.
  •  Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management software is beneficial.
