April 2024 Brookens replaced our shingles and changed out our old roof vents for new ridge vents. They arrived right on time and got to work immediately. There was a job foreman available at all times in case we had questions or if any issues were discovered. The job went amazingly quickly and smoothly. Due to weather he had to reschedule twice to keep the crew safe and allow proper work to be done. There was never any guess work on timing, work expectations etc. He took time to ensure customer satisfaction and even cleaned up some residual roof work debris.That guy never walks past anything on the ground. If it does not belong, he picks it up. Brookens Construction just completed my residential roof, and the experience was excellent from the first day I met with Rodrigo right up to completion. After my insurance company denied me coverage (for hail damage) while I was working with a different contractor, I went to Brookens, which suggested I appeal to my insurance company and, with Brookens' guidance and support, I got full coverage! The six-man roofing crew were amazing. They literally worked a 13-plus hour day the first day! And when they finished the next day, they meticulously cleaned up. OLD ROOFS
Recognizing signs of an aging roof that may be ready for replacement is essential for homeowners. One key indicator is the presence of cracked, curling, or missing shingles, which can compromise the roof’s ability to protect against weather elements. Another sign is the accumulation of granules in gutters, signaling the deterioration of shingle coatings. Sagging or uneven sections of the roof might suggest underlying structural issues that warrant attention. Additionally, if the roof has exceeded its expected lifespan—typically 20 to 25 years for asphalt shingles—it may be time to consider replacement, especially if repairs become frequent. Water stains on interior ceilings or walls and persistent leaks, despite repair attempts, may be signs of an aging roof’s diminished effectiveness.
HAIL & STORM DAMAGE
We inspect the shingles for signs of granule loss, cracking, or bruising, as hail can compromise their integrity. Additionally, we inspect the flashing around chimneys, vents, and skylights to ensure they remain securely in place. The presence of dents on metal components, such as gutters and downspouts, may indicate hail damage.
